Since joining the administration in 1997, Dean Greitzer has elevated GUCL’s infrastructure to meet the standards for contemporary legal education and refined the law program to ensure it remains an access point in which an exceptionally diverse student body can succeed.

Institutional integrity is a hallmark of Dean Greitzer’s tenure. Admission to GUCL is selective, serious learning is cultivated, academic support is abundant, performance expectations are transparent, and grading standards are rigorous, yet fair. Dean Greitzer wants every student admitted to GUCL to be successful and lets them know exactly what it takes to do that.

An expert in optimizing student performance, Dean Greitzer has artfully adjusted curriculum and educational pedagogy resulting in GUCL consistently ranking as a top performer on the CA Bar Exam among its peer California Committee of Bar Examiners accredited law schools.

A remarkable accomplishment facilitated by the Dean, with the full support and talents of the Administration and Board of Directors, is the transition from a 53-year classroom-based program to virtual learning as necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, Dean Greitzer led the GUCL community into the 20/21 academic year with no increase of tuition or fees, zero reduction in course offerings, minimal voluntary student attrition, and increased applications for admission.
