First-Year Options
Glendale University College of Law offers three first-year law programs with enrollment opportunities in summer, fall and spring.
Learning to incorporate the demands of legal education with the responsibilities of everyday life makes the first year of law school especially challenging. To offer students the best possible chance of success during this transition, three first-year programs were created. Each of the three options provides the opportunity for students to carry a lighter course load in the first year of studies.
Summer Criminal Law Program:
A focused study of criminal law
- Concentrated study of Criminal Law during the summer quarter.
- Instruction from a veteran prosecutor.
- Attend classes just 2 nights per week during the summer quarter then 3 nights per week fall through spring quarters.
- Competitive advantage; complete an entire subject before fall students enroll.

Fall Enrollment:

- Take only two substantive law classes, Torts and Contracts, for nine months.
- Dedicate one night per week to developing legal method and examsmanship skills.
- Finish the first year of law studies in the Summer Criminal Law Program.
- June LSAT scores considered for fall admission.

- Attend class an average of just two nights per week the entire first year.
- Concentrate on only one subject, Torts, for the first two quarters.
- Never have two finals in the same quarter and have only one final in the last quarter of the first year.
- Competitive advantage; complete an entire subject before fall students enroll.
- Benefit from the lowest first-year tuition payments on GUCL’s interest-free payment plan.
